There's something special about CAMP MITCHMAN... "THE MITCHMAN FAMILY SPIRIT!"
Each camper is an important member of our family and is brought up in an atmosphere of encouragement and acceptance. Our Staff is carefully selected, responsible, creative and caring. Our Facility is an 8 1/2 acre, four building private estate with forests, fields, courts, 25m pool and low ropes courses. Our Programs stress the importance of respect, teamwork and friendship while exposing campers to new, challenging and rewarding experiences. Our Activities are varied to give each child the chance be challenged and to shine. Come celebrate an unforgettable summer with us!
Our History began in 1945 when the 3 Turgeon kids & their dog came and stayed with Mary Manuel Mitchell for the summer in Essex, MA. Mary continued to run Camp Mitchman with the help of her 2 children Al Mitchell & Olive Mitchell Boccia until her death in 1984. In 1985 the Camp moved to it's present location at 36 Foster St. in Beverly, MA where it is currently operated by her grandchildren Joe Boccia & Joyce Boccia Hersey.
Our 2012 Season will consist of a single "First Week", 4 two-week sessions and a "Last Week". This year in addition to our "Traditional" Day Camp for children ages 5 - 13, we will once again offer 13 different Specialty Camps for various ages up to 14. They will range from Music, Dance, Theater & Adventure to Nature, Video, Art & Harry Potter! 2012 marks the 68th summer of providing our unique family atmosphere to children of the North Shore.
Our Family Rates allow you to save $100.00 - $300.00 each 2-Week Session!
Our "Flex Camp" gives folks who can't afford to attend full-time, the opportunity to attend either 2-full, 3-full or 5-half days per week. This format allows us to offer your child our "unique" family experience at prices as low as $90.00 per week!
Our Bus Route through Beverly, Danvers, Peabody & Salem is free.
Our Before Camp early drop-off program begins at 7:45 am and is available for $35.00/Child/Week.

Kudos to Theater Campers Jordyn Barry & Kendall Hersey for both being cast into North Shore Music Theatre's 2011 production of "A Christmas Carol". Last summer Kendall was Prince Phillip & Jordyn was Merryweather in our two performances of "Disney's Sleeping Beauty KIDS"! This marked the 15th Mainstage show at NSMT to include one of our campers following a great job done by Elizabeth Pasquale earlier last fall in "The King & I". Remarkably, since 2000 (the year our Theater Camps began) 8 of their 10 productions of
"A Christmas Carol" have included at least one of our campers in it!
